Transitioning to Fall Beauty Rituals

A new season means new rituals and skincare is no different. Just like we transition from iced lattes to pumpkin spice lattes everything, we also need to transition our daily skin rituals.

Why you need to change your skincare with the season

Along with the sunshine and poolside margaritas, the moisture in the air falls away every autumn. The outside climate is drier and indoor heating systems pull back humidity even further. When the skin starts losing moisture, the skin barrier can start to lose efficacy and become damaged, causing increased sensitivity, dryness, and irritation. Think of your skin like the leaves on a tree - you woke up one spring morning with glowing, fresh skin. Through summer you lost moisture, had some burning, and even started noticing less youthful pigmentation and dullness. Now here we are, Like the leaves, you’re going into fall struggling with dry, damaged skin that needs shedding.

So how can we pivot our daily routines to revive our skin’s glow?

building holistic fall rituals

DO

01. Add an air purifier to your space. Cooler temps can mean less fresh air in our indoor spaces. An air purifier can help boost air quality and in turn, your skin’s health.

02. Get Green. Like air purifiers, certain air-cleaning house plants can help eliminate toxins in your home or workspace.

03. Switch up your skincare routines. See our suggestions below for fall products that will help you glow up.

04. Keep wearing sunscreen. It’s always in season.

EAT

01. Pumpkin - real pumkin, not a latte - and winter squash are rich in antioxidants. These foods will help boost your skin’s health from the inside.

02. Sweet Potatoes boast high levels of beta-carotene which fight the free radicals. They’re also rich in vitamin C and E.

02. Water & Lemon. Boost your water intake to help your skin stay hydrated while supporting your lymphatic system. Add lemon for additional detoxification - but beware that the acidity may cause tooth sensitivity.

TRY

01. Collagen induction therapies and chemical exfoliation can be easier in the fall when we can easily avoid sun exposure and temperature extremes that can hinder the rejuvenation process.

02. At-home derma rolling or facial massage can help support your product and treatment. If it’s not already part of your routine, you should consider adding it.

03. BBL Laser Therapy is like hitting the reset button for your skin. Fall is the perfect time for more agressive skin treatments as they allow for more downtime.

seasonal treatment suggestions

Fall can be a perfect time to schedule more intense skin treatment.

The summer sun has started to quell and temperatures are more tepid giving the skin easier conditions for healing and rejuvenation. After laser treatments or peels, you are able to stay indoors and protect your epidermis against unwanted irritants or damage. Here’s what we recommend for fall…
