Let’s talk about Lasers: BBL, IPL and what you need to know about photofacials

A Photofacial, or laser skin rejuvenation, is a state-of-the-art skin treatment that stimulates the production of collagen to improve the effects of sun damage, rosacea, fine lines, large pores, and other skin concerns.

This rejuvenating process treats a wide breadth of concerns and can be used on most skin types. Whether your goal is to diminish facial defects like wrinkles and sun damage or remove unwanted hair, there’s a laser solution to transform you to your best “after.” These treatments have nearly no downtime and offer dramatic results in a matter of days. Even better, your skin will continue to transform and improve over the following weeks and months.

How it Works

The light energy delivered by BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, vibrant and younger-looking.

Many are paying attention to a study performed by the Stanford University School of Medicine. In a study by the Stanford University School of Medicine, researchers found that BBL treatments have a short-term and long-term effect on the aging process. The study goes on to say that according to their research, this form of therapy actually changes the way that your DNA works. It makes your skin cells act as if they were younger. … Yes, please.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) & BroadBand Light (BBL)

If you’ve googled treatments for amazing skin, you’ve probably heard of IPL and BBL laser therapy. But the service seems overwhelming and you aren’t sure where to start. Keep reading to dive deep into the differences of IPL and BBL light therapies.

The Similarities

Both IPL and BBL use non-invasive light waves to treat the skin – specifically sun spots, hyperpigmentation, and other skin imperfections. Neither requires injections or incisions. They can also be used on any part of the skin that needs treatment. The number of treatments for both of these varies between patients and has varying durations of lasting benefits. There is no downtime associated with either of these treatments, but avoiding sun exposure afterward is important for both.

Intense Pulsed Light

As the first of its kind, IPL treatments use a handheld device that is passed over the skin’s surface delivering pulses of broad-spectrum light deep into the skin. With a range of light waves being used, IPL works to stimulate collagen to reduce visible signs of aging, sun spots, rosacea, and more.

BroadBand Light

BBL specializes in high-intensity light to heat up the skin. This treatment stimulates collagen production and is the only treatment that can change the expression of the genes associated with aging. BBL literally restores the genetic aging pattern of the skin, changing the way you age! BBL treatments can be easily personalized, so we can adjust to meet your skin’s unique needs.

Our laser services utilize both BBL and IPL to provide the highest result possible.

The Process

01. Visia Skin Anaysis

We will start by analysing the skin using advanced technologies. The Visia analysis will allow us to see underlying pigmentation, surface texture, wrinkle depth, and redness in the skin.

By having a baseline metric, we can build a measurable log of your transformation. zif you think a magnifying mirror is satisfying - and terrifying - you’ll love this science-based approach to measuring results.

02. Prep

We equip each patient with protective eyewear to protect their eyes during the procedure. We will also numb your skin using a topical gel to ensure you stay comfortable throughout your session.

03. Treat

During your treatments we will slowly glide the laser light across the face (or other treatment area).

Treatment Results

After a single treatment, your skin may feel smoother and appear to have a more evenly distributed tone. However, results only appear gradually and multiple treatments will be required for them to become truly dramatic.

The 10 year Stanford study (mentioned above) documented that, when performed on an annual or semi-annual basis, patients appear 11 years younger than their actual age. In other words, they looked younger than when the study began!

We can use laser therapy as a tool to treat the following:

  • Broken capillaries (blood vessels)

  • Rosacea

  • Sun damage (sun spots)

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Spider veins

  • Freckles

  • Fine lines

  • dullness

  • ance
