Pre and post care guide

As you prepare for your RevePeel session, we have some advice and tips for making the most of your treatment. Below you will find practical advice alongside healthy suggestions to help you achieve the transformation you’re hoping for. It is important to follow the post-care instruction STRICTLY during the peeling process. To avoid skin inflammation, complications, and scarring.

 

Important noted for what to avoid

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and excessive heat all the time for 28 days

  • Avoid strenuous exercises and sweating in the first 3 to 4 days

  • Do not pick, rub or unnecessarily touch the treated skin

  • Do not use any skincare products other than the accompanied ReveSkin® Post Care products

  • No alcohol 48 hours prior

  • No alcohol afterwards to avoid a ‘hangover’ feeling and dehydration

  • Avoid sugar

  • Body will eliminate for 10 days afterwards - body sculpting guide

  • Avoid dairy for 24 hours beforehand

  • Do not eat a high sodium meals 72 hours pre of post treatment session

  • Avoid hot yoga and sauna for 24 hours before and 72 hours afterwards

  • No antibiotics for 2 weeks

 

What to Expect

 

Day 1 After Peel Application

  • It is normal to experience a moderate amount of burning and stinging, that will subside in a few hours.

  • Do not touch treated skin

  • Avoid the sun and excessive heat

  • A fan will help reduce the burning sensation

  • Drink plenty of water if you have any headache or migraine

  • You can take anti-inflammatories such as Aspirin or Advil for 24 hours to help reduce swelling or discomfort

Days 2 through 7 Peeling Process

  • Redness, itchiness, swelling, dryness, tightness and discoloration to brown are common.

  • The top layer of dark skin will peel away. Your skin will start to peel in 48 to 72 hours.

  • The peeling will last 5 to 7 days. Most peeling will occur on day 4 to day 6.

Adverse Experiences such as a skin breakout or acne, rash, swelling and burning may occur. Call your medical office immediately regarding any unexpected problems. Peeling amount varies per skin condition. Lack of peeling is not an indication that the peel was unsuccessful. Reasons may include: • Regular skin resurfacing • Frequent use of Retin A, AHA, or other peeling agents • Severe sun damage

During the peeling process, the skin should be kept comfortable, not too moist before the peeling starts, and not too dry after the peeling starts.

Ongoing Maintenance

  • Avoid direct sun exposure at least for 4 weeks. Always shade the new skin and use sunscreen all the time.

  • Avoid exfoliating products or facial washing devices for 4 weeks.

  • It is critical to continue skin lightening or acne treatment regimen to enhance the peeling results and prevent the resurfacing of pigmentation or acne.
