Let’s talk about inflammation and why it’s everything in your wellness journey

Inflammation is a common word that seems to be on the lower end of importance when speaking of beauty and wellness. But, for most of us, it should be the first thing we look at when addressing our concerns.

An inflamed joint, skin inflammation, gut inflammation - we hear about them so much that we stop listening to what they are telling us. We start looking at the symptoms of ongoing inflammation in the body and attempting to treat each instead of addressing the core of the issue. We treat the ‘sickness’ not to root cause of it. Fatigue, fogginess, social withdrawal, and high blood pressure are signs of inflammation - so why are we treating each as its own problem instead of taking a more radical, holistic approach to healing and soothing our bodies?

inflammation in the body

Ongoing inflammation often called low-grade systemic chronic inflammation (SCI), is a common issue arising from lifestyle, diet, wellness, or stress habits.

When continuously inflamed, the body will seek to conserve energy. These energy-saving behaviors are commonly known as “sickness behaviors”. This reduced energetic state can prove harmful when it continues over time.

inflammation in the SKIN

Ongoing inflammation often presents as common skin concerns - redness, dryness, a damaged skin barrier. These are often the result of chronic exposure to toxins or chemicals that send our skin on the defense. From stagnant lymphatic fluid in our body to pollution, our skin is feeling it from all angles.
