Body Sculpting
Pre and post care guide
As you start to prepare for your body sculpting or lymphatic session, we have some advice and tips for making the most of your treatment. Below you will find practical advice alongside healthy suggestions to help you achieve the transformation you’re hoping for.
the week of your session
01. PREPARE
drink
Drink at least half of your body weight in water.
For example, if you are 150 pounds, drink a minimum of 75 oz of water (around 10 cups).
Water will expedite the elimination of toxins and fat. It will also help to prevent a headache. We are moving fluids and stagnant toxins in our session. Hydration is key to your body being able to easily expel these toxins. If you are dehydrated, you may feel ‘hungover’ after your session.
Plus, drinking the appropriate amount of water can raise your metabolic rate by as much as 7%.
***Start drinking this amount of water at least 48 hours ahead of your appointment and continue for 7 days. This will allow us to move the most fluid and for you to fully detoxify afterwards.
eat
Eat clean food during your treatment schedule- no processed junk.
We want to make sure that you get the most out of your body sculpting. Clean foods will help support your body’s immune, metabolic, and lymphatic systems to function at their highest levels.
tips
Don’t take histamine blockers 7 days pre or post-treatment
Drink green tea
Stay away from dairy and seed oils
They can cause inflammation and make it more difficult to get optimal resultsAvoid hot yoga and saunas for 72 hours before and 72 hours afterwards
The body will eliminate for 10 days afterwards so be kind to her as she does her work.
the day of your session
02. GET READY
what to wear
absolutely no metal, no lotions, no lululemon clothing
We suggest an old 2-piece bathing suit for your session. We have some very fashionable disposable bralettes and panties that we can provide if you prefer.
Wear loose-fitting clothing to and from your appointment. We don’t want to get everything moving and then restrict lymph flow. Loose-fitting clothing for the entire day would ideal.
For Men: Please shave the treatment area prior to arriving. The machine needs unobstructed contact to get results.
water. water. water.
after or between your sessions
03. POST-SESSION
MOVEMENT
It’s important to move to help the body easily eliminate toxins and puffiness.
Take 30minutes for a simple, beginner-level yoga flow or a strength training session with light weights.
avoid strenuous, high-sweat activities such as hot yoga, cardio, or sauna sessions for 72 hours to avoid changing the flow built during the session
STRETCHING
Stretching helps to provide oxygen to muscles and stimulate circulation. More oxygen to your muscles can reduce lactic acid production and rid your muscles of any accumulation of lactic acid.
follow this 15-minute stretch routine to get started
POSITIVE THINKING
Manifesting and positive affirmations can be used as tools to help you get in the right mindset for change.
Try a meditation app like HeadSpace to help build mindfulness. (Learn more about mindfulness and weight loss here or here.)
A few things to avoid
no massage afterward for 5 days
no flying for 48 hours after first sessions - In some cases, the moving of toxins may cause dizziness or ‘hangover-like’ results
Don’t take histamine blockers 7 days pre or post-treatment
seed oils can cause inflammation and halt your detoxification process
hot yoga and saunas can cause stagnation as your body moves between temperature extremes
AND MORE WATER!
important post-session note:
You may feel sick after lymphatic body sculpting
Lymphatic massaging aids the lymph flow and stimulates blood circulation throughout the body. The implementation of proper techniques and lymphatic massage tools leads to an increased flow making it easier for the organism to flush out waste and leads to the process of detoxification. Even though this type of non-invasive treatment carries many benefits, sometimes patients may feel sick after it. Truth is that the lymphatic massage side effects are normal and usually go away in a day or two.
Having said that, you can easily diminish the negative effects of the procedure by preparing your body and by drinking plenty of water before and after the procedure. Water aids detoxification and makes it less likely for you to experience the unpleasant side effects of the lymphatic massage.
Some of the most common lymphatic massage side effects include:
Headache and migraine
Dizziness and fatigue
Flu and cold-like symptoms
Diarrhea and increased urination
Nausea and vomiting
